I love handkerchiefs. I also bought of the island of Burano some of the lace sachets that are just gorgeous! I can’t wait to go back! Reply
Lace sachets sound like wonderful keepsakes. Burano is so lovely and I’d like to go back there too! Reply
I agree – they were very beautiful and there were so many textures, from handkerchiefs to bookmarks! Reply
Wow, a lot of work has gone into those. I love the bookmarks they’re really special. Probably too delicate for me though, I’m a bit clumsy to be owning anything that can be classed as fragile or remotely delicate! Reply
I really thought the bookmarks were pretty. And I’d buy one as a keepsake – I wouldn’t actually use it! Reply
Even then I’d still find some way of damaging it, I’m the world’s worst! Perhaps you will treat yourself to one on your next trip there? :-) Reply
Oh my gosh how beautiful! I’d need a whole separate plane for all the stuff I’d be bringing home! Reply
It’s so hard to choose when you have to pack everything in a suitcase! However they fold up very neatly :) Reply
Have you visited Belgium? Also here in France in Brittany are some of the most beautiful laces anywhere! Reply
I’ve been to Brussels but only for a day. I’d like to see some of the beautiful laces when I’m in France this spring! Reply
I love the lace and embroidery that you find in Europe…it is beautiful.
I feel the same way. They’re so easy to pack in a suitcase and bring home as gifts too!
Nice interpretation! Lace and embroidery…definitely delicate…
Thanks! I thought they looked very dainty in the window… :)
Reblogged this on Italian Heritage Association.
It is beautiful and looks like excellent quality as well
That’s what I thought too – they were charming!

Takes me back to childhood days, remembering my grandmother.
That sounds like a wonderful memory! My grandmother used to do embroidery… :)

How beautiful. You don’t really see handmade lace like that any more.
I thought the lace was beautiful too, and I admire the way it was displayed :)

I remember those beautiful table covers in Italy!
They are really charming. I’d probably keep them in a drawer and never use them!
These are beautiful linens!
I thought so too, and the display was really charming!
A beautiful display, and perfect for the theme!
