Just gorgeous, Meg! I so often laugh at myself because I take photos all the time of our local mountains. I took dozens the other day when we had a light dusting of snow and I almost posted them and stopped myself when I really realized there are photos of mountains with snow, and there are photos with SNOW! I just love mountains. :-) You’ve been to some tremendously gorgeous places!
Thank you Debra! Seeing the Matterhorn is something I’ll never forget. And I hope you post your pictures – I’d like to know more about your local mountains… :)
Just a couple of weeks and I shall be playing all over western europe for several weeks…your photo makes me want to pack NOW!
I hope you have a wonderful time and I’m looking forward to reading about your adventures!
Stunning isn’t it :)
It is simply magnificent!
Oh wow, that is just spectacular. I so want to visit Switzerland. You’ve just got my travel bug all worked up again.
Switzerland is a beautiful place and I hope that you’ll get to visit there!
You couldn’t have picked a better photo for this theme than the famous mountain peak. Terrific photo by the way.
Thank you Karen – it was an unforgettable sight!

You nailed the theme this week, that’s for sure!
Thanks Jennifer – I don’t think I could have chosen anything else!
Such a soaring spire of rock – I remember the excitement I felt at the first sight of it, approaching Zermat with my friend. Terrific entry Meg. :)
Seeing the Matterhorn is an unbelievable experience isn’t it? And thank you so much… :)

I love the cloud behind it! ~Sherry~
I do too – it looks like the mountain has its own private cloud!
Truly one of the most iconic of mountain tops!
It was such an impressive sight!
It’s amazing draped in snow.
I think so too – it looked spectacular!
That is, gorgeous.
It is simply beautiful!
The rise of the Matterhorn above the steeple in the village below makes the image really ‘pop’! Spectacular indeed!
Thanks Renee – the Matterhorn dominated the view wherever you looked!
The Matterhorn is one of the world’s most beautiful mountains. I feel lucky to have hiked there, though it was sadly before my serious photog. days.
That must have been quite an experience to hike there! My pictures were all taken from Zermatt … :)
Fabulous. Simply gorgeous.
It’s something I’ll never forget…
What a beautiful juxtaposition– the zenith of the mountain and the Swiss architecture to the left.
That’s what I thought too – you can see both the mountain and the town!

Wow, what a photo! Very beautiful and alarming and wonderful at the same time.
That’s a good way of expressing it – the Matterhorn is really overwhelming!
If the photo is this stunning I can only imagine what it’s like to see this in person.
