It was a cloudy day when I visited this lighthouse on the coast of Prince Edward Island, Canada. I climbed the stairs to the top for a view of the beach below. From the ground there was a boardwalk leading to the water. These pictures reminded me of this week’s theme.
For the theme of home I thought of a place from a book I read a long time ago. It was the main reason I had always dreamed of visiting Prince Edward Island. So when I went there the first place I wanted to go was to Green Gables, home of Anne Shirley, Marilla and Matthew. Along the way I even saw a road sign that featured Green Gables.

This is a place I’d dreamed about ever since reading the Anne of Green Gables stories, and I was so happy to have the chance to visit! It was quite easy to get around, whether by car, bicycle or on foot. And the best part was that I had enough time to thoroughly explore the island. Here’s some of what I saw.
There are many things to see on Prince Edward Island that don’t include Anne of Green Gables. Although I was there because I wanted to visit all of the Anne (and L. M. Montgomery) places, I also found beautiful beaches, lighthouses, and towns.
Calling all kindred spirits! I’m here on Prince Edward Island, getting ready to find Anne of Green Gables. I think I’ll start with how I got here.
