When I was walking along Magnificent Mile in Chicago the John Hancock Center was quite an impressive sight. When I finally reached it I had to stand back to get pictures of the top of the building. Here are different views of when I looked up.

Travel theme: Roads
For this week’s theme I thought of two pictures showing completely different scenes. The first is from Chicago showing late afternoon traffic. The second is from the Foothills Parkway in Tennessee and leads to panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Both roads may lead to adventure, so take your pick!

It’s the perfect time to look back on this year’s travel destinations. For me it started with trips to Dallas and Philadelphia in the winter followed by Anaheim in the summer, and then St. Petersburg, Chicago and North Carolina in the fall. I was just in Chicago this weekend and everything was festive! There’s a Christmas market that’s filled with crafts, food, and other interesting things to discover. I also visited Macy’s on State Street to see the holiday decorations. Here are some pictures of Chicago in December.

A Chicago Weekend
Last weekend was an ideal time to be in Chicago. For one thing the weather was perfect. It was sunny and the sky was bright blue. I had to make a decision as to where I should go first. I thought that a walk along the Magnificent Mile would be a good choice. And it became a real adventure. I saw many historic buildings, department stores and lots of people. Here are some of the sights.
Lincoln Park Zoo in Early Spring
I was in Chicago a few weeks ago. One of my favorite destinations there is the Lincoln Park Zoo. It’s actually in the city, so when you look around you can see many tall buildings. In fact, the parking area gives you a view of some of the city’s skyscrapers.
