When I was in New Orleans recently, I had many opportunities to observe the Mississippi River at different times of the day. It was interesting to watch all the activity on the river, as can be seen in these photos.
Although most of the traffic was during the day, in the evening paddle boats went out on the river. I could see them follow the curve of the river, getting smaller and smaller and eventually disappearing around a bend.
When I saw the busy tugboats, it was almost like a cartoon of a tugboat saying, “I think I can, I think I can.”
Watching the sunset was a lovely sight, and so was watching the sun come up the next morning.

The sunset and sunrise are beautiful, almost magical.
