It occurs to me that some enterprising person could start up flatbed tours of Chicago, whereby you could lie down on a flatbed truck and view the skyscrapers from a prone position, thus avoiding getting a crick in your neck. It would be a most relaxing way to enjoy the city, I would have thought.

That is the best idea ever! Chicago does have double-decker tour buses so they could add reclining seats or neck pillows. But your suggestion is by far the best!! :)

This is one skyline that I would have guessed even if you didn’t mention that is was Chicago’s. Nice representation of one of my favorite cities.

I enjoy looking at city skylines and scenes much more through your blog that I would going there. I’m not much of a city person; I’ve lived near NYC all my life (and gone there uncountable times) and never enjoyed the “grittiness” of the big city. However, your photos show the best without all the “extras” that turn me away. Thanks for a sunny perspective! :)

I think it’s because I was a visitor to Chicago that I could focus on the impressive architecture and all the best parts of the city. And there was a lot to see!

I’m always amazed at the work that went before all these massive constructions–from the idea on paper. I suppose now it’s on a computer screen, but still…Beautiful skyline.

It seems to me those were difficult subjects to photograph. I’m sure the perspective was a challenge. But you really captured the skyline well, and those tall, gorgeous buildings are really special! Debra

Your photos look like abstract art – very cool. The buildings look so clean and it’s great to see the different styles right next to each other. I love looking up as much as possible too. It’s too bad it gets hard to walk that way after a while!

It really is interesting that the buildings look so good together. And sometimes it was a challenge getting pictures – I had to find a place to stand where I wasn’t in anyone’s way!

Thanks – I was so determined to get the whole building in my pictures that I was practically standing in the middle of the (very busy) street! But it worked so it was worth it… :)

I thought about it! But then I realized I just needed to change the angle of the camera, and that made it a lot easier :)

:) Too funny! They are amazing. I would be afraid to do that here in Shanghai… I would just get run over. Traffic is scary! I got my skyline shots of Shanghai from a boat cruise and from the windows in my building… much safer ;) I would like to get some good shots up close though…

Yes this one has a good zoom and allows me to do black and white or seipa. Only thing now I need to learn all the features! Hee hee.
