This week’s theme from Where’s my backpack? about foliage was a challenge because I had lots of possibilities. But I decided on pictures I took during a boat ride on the Rhine River. It was late September and the leaves were starting to change colors. Here are some of the pictures (with lots of trees)!

Love your pictures! I just returned from a trip down the Danube from Germany to Hungary. It was amazing. The views from the boat of the countryside and castles were incredible.

Was there a fog or mist in the air? That castle is gorgeous. It must be very cold inside are a fortune to heat.

It had been raining earlier and the weather was mostly cloudy that afternoon. And I think you’re right – the castles must be difficult to heat!

I love the thick dense forests of trees here in Europe…would love to do the Rhine and see those castles…I did germany by bus once…just not the same!!

I think being on the river provides a unique view of the landscape that you won’t see any other way. And it’s really beautiful too!

Gorgeous! I’ve sometimes thought it would be lovely to cruise down the Rhine, and seeing your photos makes me think this time of year would be a great time to do it.
