When I was in Seattle I thought that Pike Place Market was a good starting point for walking around the city. While I was there I was able to see a lot of local places within a few blocks. I had a map that made it simple to get around. Because it either rained or was overcast during the time I was there I decided to take black and white pictures to show the city in a slightly different way.
Every time I walked by this sign there were people standing on both sides of the street taking pictures. Along the way I also saw some Seattle-based places that you may recognize:
As I continued to walk there were more interesting sights. The rain subsided and I was able to put my umbrella down and take these pictures.
After all the walking I decided it was time for a break and maybe get something to eat!
I love these photos– you certainly captured the bleakness of Seattle in black and white photography well!

I’m intrigued by the crumpets. I know they’re different things in different countries, what does a Seattle crumpet look like?
