For this week’s theme I thought of two pictures showing completely different scenes. The first is from Chicago showing late afternoon traffic. The second is from the Foothills Parkway in Tennessee and leads to panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Both roads may lead to adventure, so take your pick!
I’ll take the second one! :-)
It looks like there’s adventure ahead on that road!
Gosh, hard choice. Let me think…… Yes, definitely the second :)
That is a good choice!
Great pictures– I think I would take either one (depending on my temperament that day)! :)
Thanks Rachael! Good reasoning in picking both too… :)
Two marvellous photos.. I think I will choose the forest road :) – Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome and I’m glad you liked the pictures!
Great photo of Chicago.
Thank you, it’s a wonderful place!
I think I shall venture into the heart of Chicago for some yummy food.
I like your thinking! Chicago has some superb restaurants and fun places like Garrett’s popcorn shops :)
Great contrast.
Thanks, I felt that they were totally different!
The Chicago pic gave me a smell of hot cement and exhaust fumes and the foothills gave me an aroma of dust, warm leaves and fresh earth. Guess which I prefered.
Your narrative of the scenes is wonderful! I think I can tell which one you’d like better… :)
I’ll take the road to the second adventure, if that’s okay with you? It looks gorgeous :-)
You certainly can pick that adventure! It’s a perfectly delightful road… :)
I prefer the road less travelled:) Beautiful Captures – Happy Tuesday!
Exactly what I had in mind. I work in the city so the one less travelled is attractive to me.
Great choice! It was a very refreshing drive with beautiful mountain views!
Love the contrast Meg :)
Thank you! There’s such a big difference between the city and the country… :)
I like the contrast too! The Great Smoky mountains is beautiful!
Thanks Amy – I was really impressed by the beauty of those mountains!
Definitely the second. I’ve had my fill of traffic jams, but both pictures are excellent.
Thanks – I think an adventure begins much sooner when you’re not caught in a traffic jam!
OH How I love roads and the place they have taken me :)
That’s a wonderful thought! Roads are part of the fun of travel… :)
:) to be sure!
Lovely post! Hard to choose I can’t decide >.< hmm..I love gardens and forests so maybe I would try that one first!
Thank you! It really is hard to decide, but I like the reasons for your choice!
We have traveled some of the same roads…I wonder if we have crossed paths? ; )
That’s such a nice thought – it’s certainly possible!
Both are really beautiful in different ways, aren’t they? I love the Chicago skyline. And the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is undeniably appealing. What a great comparison for the travel theme. :-) I want to travel both of them!
Thanks Debra! I think it’s a good idea to choose both – that way you won’t miss any adventures at all… :)
Most certainly the foothills of those incredible smokey mountains. So stunning, those colours are something I dream of when it comes to beautiful autumn tones! I ,ove the way the trees and bushes frame that road with a perfect canopy.
Perfect for long travels…
Nice choice and you’re right about the colors – it was autumn and the trees were just starting to change. It was a beautiful sight!
I love how you compared two roads and the adventures waiting in each that would be so different.
Thanks Karen! I think that they’d both be interesting to follow – it’s great to have choices… :)
I totally agree.
I’m on the second road for sure!
It’s a wonderful road and a fine choice!
I’m sure that Chicago would be an amazing place to drive into (although I’m better if someone else does the driving) but I just love that forest road :-)
Chicago is a challenge when you drive there! The forest road has gorgeous scenery and I think you’d enjoy those views… :)
I think I’ll skip the traffic!
Good decision – it takes longer to get somewhere when there’s so much traffic!
Thanks for visiting my blog and likings Cee’s challenge for lines. I move the city pictures and you top image is so beautiful.
Thanks! I’m glad that I had the opportunity to get that picture of Chicago. And you’re welcome – I enjoyed visiting your blog :)
