Weekly Photo Challenge: Color

My recent visit to Pike Place Market in Seattle provided a great opportunity to see lots of different colors.  Fresh fruits and vegetables were a welcome sight during a long winter.  Here are some of the colors of the market displays.

For a contrast, I took two pictures of the same scene – one in black and white and one in color.

  1. Look at the sheen on those apples! The black and white photo definitely captures the “bleakness” of winter– I think I would definitely select the shiny apples! :)

  2. We both had the same idea for the challenge this week :)
I enjoy visiting markets – the produce is always so fresh and tasty. They have never disappointed me yet.

  6. what beautiful captures. one of my favourite places to visit when in Seattle, second only to Safeco Field at Game Time. Go Mariners! but i digress. :)

i think that a world of black & white might be dramatic, but it would be missing out on all the wonder & cheer of a world of colour. thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks! Seattle is a great city to visit – I’ll have to go to a game next time! And I agree that the market wouldn’t be quite the same in black and white… :)

  8. Great pictures! Just like Tina, your post reminded me of my visit to Pike Place Market several years ago. I visited on a beautiful Labor Day weekend. The giant Dahlias were incredible!
