The Bridge of Sighs in Venice is a place where I have taken many pictures over the years. Here are some of those photos from different visits and various times of the day.
And here is one from the other side of the bridge:
The two blogs I would like to recommend this month are: Just Add Attitude and wordsfromanneli.
Great detail shots of the bridge! I’m in love with Venice :)

Simply amazing to me that all these structures that have their foundations in water all these years have withstood the test of time. And the Venetians haven’t compromised the mode of transportation. Still teeny tiny boats !!!! Beautiful.

I agree that the architecture is remarkable – and getting around by boat still works really well. Thanks Linda!

Beautiful detail in the photos and I, too, especially like the last one. With all your travels is there one place that just places itself high above all the rest and makes you feel like you died and went to heaven. I have one. It just reached in and stole my heart. The first time I went there it felt like nirvana and it’s still the one place that I long to go back to. Kinda like the song “I left my heart in San Francisco.”

Beautiful photos, Meg. I was so disappointed when I visited in 2011 and the Bridge of Sighs was all covered up for renovation. I guess I’ll just have to go back again. :)

That is a perfect reason to go back to Venice! One of my pictures is of a renovation too, but I’ve been back since and it was nice to see it was complete :)

I have never been to Italy, though my husband was there last week for work. I often say that all of Europe is covered in scaffolding…or, apparently, cloud-covered cloth?!!

You are right – landmarks are often being renovated! I’m glad I’ve been to Venice more than once so I could see the bridge without the covering :)

Love Venice! I visited when I was 15, took a ride on a gondola and was serenaded by the gondolier. Would have been so romantic had I been with someone other than my Dad…hehehe. Regardless, we had a fabulous time and I look forward to going back one day with my daughter.
