When I was growing up my family would go to the beach during the summer. Many times we would drive to Maine and spend the day swimming, collecting seashells and enjoying the beautiful weather. My recollection is that the water never got very warm, even in August. I’ve made this postcard as a nostalgic reminder of those sunny days along the shore.
What lovely memories. I also remember being taken to the beach as a child, collecting shells and swimming in freezing cold water – no doubt very good for us!

I still have some of the seashells – and I’ll always remember that cold water!

What a coincidence — just this morning I was picking up seashells on my own beach. When we visited Maine it reminded me a lot of home. :)

My most nostalgic memories of childhood center around the beach, too. My grandparents rented beach houses and I spent a lot of time there every summer. I love your photos! Beautiful blue! :-)

What great memories Meg – with gorgeous photos! Since I grew up in Ohio our closest body of water was Lake Erie and a trip there was special. Plus we got to go to the Cedar Point Amusement Park and ride the Wild Mouse – truly memorable! Thanks for reminding me of this great memory. All the best, Terri
