When I was in England one of my objectives was to travel from London to Cornwall. In order to do this I went to Paddington Station to take a train that made that connection. Here are some scenes from the train station.
After changing trains several times I arrived in Cornwall. I noticed an interesting sign at the station and decided to follow it. After a short walk this was the view…
I like the Paddington Bear statue, although I don’t see any marmalade sandwiches. Perhaps he’d eaten them by the time he posed for the sculpture.
I didn’t notice any sandwiches (or marmalade) either – he must have been very hungry!
They really have one of the best infrastructure. So easy to connect one point with another. Cute bear!
I agree – it was so easy to go from London to Cornwall. And Paddington is really cute!
I just love the Paddington Bear statue. It must delight everyone who sees it. And aren’t you glad you followed that sign. What a view!
It was so much fun finding that statue! I still have some Paddington books too… :)
A world away from London that is for sure…MM 🍀
It’s a very different environment and I thought it was tranquil… :)
This is what I love about traveling – there’s always something new and interesting, different from home.
I think that’s part of the fun too! It’s interesting to see other places and appreciate the differences.
Of the few places I was in the UK, I was in Paddington Station four times. Why did I never see that bear? And I loved the funny signs in Cornwall.
The statue was inside with the shops and the escalator. This was my second time there and I didn’t notice Paddington the first time either. It’s such a cheerful statue!
Wow, I never thought of using the word connection this way which really is a perfect use of the term.
Thank you – I tried to think of a different kind of connection for this challenge!
Love, love the Paddington bear statue, he must cheer a lot a people up as they pass by him.
It really is a friendly and cheerful statue – I know that I enjoyed seeing Paddington very much!
An appealing destination at the end of all your connections!
It was such a lovely sight – Cornwall is so beautiful!
This is a wonderful take on, Meg :) I was wondering about you a couple of days ago, happy to see you on my WP reader today :)
Thanks Amy! I was on a trip and didn’t post for a few days – I appreciate it very much that you noticed… :)
Thanks for this delightful glimpse, Meg!
You’re welcome Patricia – it was a lovely train ride and the visit to Cornwall was amazing!
yes Paddington the first line of the metro of London this year 150 yrs old….! Happy travels.
It has quite an interesting history and it’s still a very busy place!
Great literal interpretation! Love your thought process and the BEACH !
Thanks – the train connections were right on time and the view of the beach was wonderful!
It sure was!
St Ives is a marvelous place and worth all the connecting trains!
I added it to my growing list : )
You did a terrific job with this theme. Making connections can sometimes be a stressful event.
Thank you Karen! I found these connections very stress-free and I even had time to have lunch at one of the stops along the way… :)
It once took me 5 connections on the train just to get from here to Nottingham, Meg, and no lovely Paddington Bear to entertain me en route. (but my daughter was waiting at the other end, so it was worth it :) )
Seeing your daughter would definitely be worth the many connections! It’s also nice to see a cheery Paddington Bear… :)
Great pics from your journey, Meg. Paddington Bear is so cute. :) I love M&S Food. Wish they had them over here.
Thanks! I really like Simply Food too – they have so many choices… :)
There are so many boats, it looks like a parking lot! I like that they have Paddington at the station.
It does look like a parking lot! It was so much fun to see Paddington Bear too… :)
