It was a rainy morning in San Gimignano, Italy. I was taking a leisurely walk admiring the architecture and imagining the past when I saw a red car that was decidedly modern. It provided quite a contrast to the rest of the scene.
Check here for more examples.
It’s like a wee toy car. Nice pic!

A lovely splash of modernism! Have you been somewhere nice, Meg, or we just out of sinc? I’m still playing catch up since the Algarve. :)

The first of these Fiat bambinos was produced in 1957 and the last in 1975. I wonder how old this one is. We have the recent edition of the Fiat 500 and we love it.

Great juxtaposition. The herringbone brick roadway is gorgeous – was that a road or was the car on a walkway?

Thanks – it looked like a pedestrian walkway but it must have been for local traffic too. It was a nice surprise to see this car!

I also like how the car is dwarfed by the steps—another seeming incongruity in juxtaposition. :D

You’re right Kathryn – the steps really show how tiny that car is!
