A Lake Maggiore Walk

During my visit to Italy last May I took an afternoon walk one day in Baveno along Lake Maggiore.  When I look at these pictures now I can see that it wasn’t a sunny day, but I didn’t notice it at the time.  This is probably because the views of the lake and mountains were so compelling the cloudy skies didn’t matter.  There weren’t too many people around that day so I could focus on the scenery.  I also remember seeing the flowers beginning to bloom on the hydrangeas.  Just as I thought it would be nice to have a treat I found a gelato shop.  This was an important part of the walk too.

What I saw along the way.

It was a charming walk.

  1. I think that is the beauty of travelling — when you visit somewhere new, the weather conditions sometimes fade into the background, unless of course it is an event that impacts your ability to get around. I’m loving reading your posts, and yearn for when I can next take the long flight north from Australia. Meanwhile, I’ll be your keyboard travelling friend. :)
    Best wishes from Brisbane, Australia.

  2. Somewhere long, long ago, WP dumped you from my feed! Of all the nerve, right? I was thinking of you and decided to look you up! Good grief. You’ve been doing LOTS of walking that I missed. Well, I’m back now. And this looks like a beautiful and fabulous walk, Meg! What a gorgeous and interesting sky!
