
Gondola Ride

Venice is a place that I think of when it comes to adventure. Part of the fun of finding interesting places there is to step away from the crowds and find scenes like this. Where is the gondola going? It could be anywhere but it certainly looks as though they are gliding toward an adventure.

One of the more picturesque means of transportation that I can remember was going up the side of a mountain near Lugano, Switzerland on a gondola. It was silent except for the whirring sound of the machinery moving the gondolas. There was plenty of time to enjoy the changing view and I took lots of pictures. Although it was May when I had this adventure it was still chilly with traces of snow on the ground. Here is some of what I saw that day.

While I was on a leisurely walk though Venice I stopped on a small bridge to look at the view. It was then that I saw one gondolier taking a break and catching up on the latest news. He chose a nice setting for a short rest.

There are many elegant gondolas in Venice, Italy. But there are other boats providing transportation as well!
This theme from East of Málaga reminds me of the time I took a gondola to the top of Monte Tamaro near Lugano, Switzerland. Although it was May there was a chill in the air. Here are some of the views from that day that feature the color blue.
