There are some interesting paths for walking on the grounds of the Carl Sandburg Home in North Carolina. Last week while I was there it was a sunny and somewhat cool day. It simply meant that having a light jacket made it more comfortable for being outdoors. The path I chose went along a lake and the leaves were just starting to change color. It was even possible to see everything twice because of the reflections on the water.
I took a leisurely walk so I could admire this scenery.
a fine view
pine cones and leaves

these leaves are still green
The pictures for this week’s photo challenge are from around the Carl Sandburg Home in North Carolina. It was late afternoon and there was green everywhere, including a house on the property. Here are some of the sights.
On a sunny afternoon last week I went to an orchard near Hendersonville, North Carolina to pick apples. The scenery was delightful and I spent as much time taking pictures and admiring the view as I did collecting apples. It was near the end of the season so there were very few trees that had apples on them. My choice was a variety called Pink Lady apples, which were still plentiful and ready to be picked. So basket in hand I started down the hill (a very steep one) in search of these trees.
