After visiting the Chelsea Flower Show in May I’ve been inspired to work on my own garden. After all, who wouldn’t want a garden that looks like this?
So I’ve been tending my garden and the lavender, purple coneflowers, daisies, lemon balm, thyme and other herbs and flowers have really grown since I planted them last year. There have been lots of bumblebees this summer but no butterflies until yesterday, when I saw a visitor among the flowers.
The butterfly didn’t seem to mind that I was standing very close to get these pictures. Since I’d selected flowers for this garden that would attract bees, butterflies and songbirds, I was delighted to see such a colorful visitor. Later I did some research and discovered that it’s a Tiger Swallowtail, and I hope it comes back many, many times!
How lucky for you. Your garden looks wonderful. I hope your visitor returns and brings friends. xo

I’d love a garden like yours; it’s gorgeous. Alas, I’m descended from a woman who killed a cactus. The odds aren’t in my favor…or the plants.

I’ve been very fortunate with these plants – they seem to be happy with the climate. I’ve lost some along the way but most of them are doing great!

That butterfly is a real beauty! I’ve noticed that butterflies seem a lot bigger this year, which is fine with me! We had a hummingbird moth in our garden last year, it was incredible. We also put out a hummingbird feeder and I love watching those cuties zipping around for their food. :)

It’s so exciting to see butterflies – they are so elegant. That is really exciting that you have hummingbirds too – they are so much fun to watch!
